A number of events are held throughout the working week in Parliament. These include receptions, breakfasts, lunches, private meetings, briefings and talks, which are usually hosted by an MP or Lord and sponsored by an outside organisation or charity. These events are helpful in raising awareness of certain issues and encouraging discussion with Parliamentarians.
I attend many events in Parliament during the week on various issues from the Great Western Railway to the RSPCA ‘Community Animal Welfare’, and to support campaigns such as ‘Wear it Pink’ and Women’s Rights in Afghanistan.
I have hosted a number of events in association with various local and national groups, including the RWE Power reception, Hop, Skip and Jump reception, and the Royal College of Speech and Language Specialists drop-in.
