Robert Buckland MP is calling for people to support the Swindon Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis by helping with a store collection and bag packing.
The charity, which first formed in 1981, offers therapies, advice and support to people with MS and their families in Swindon and the local area. It is the only centre of its kind within a 35-mile radius of Swindon.
Sarah Heppenstall, Community Fundraiser for the group said: “Previous store collections and bag packs in and around Swindon have been very worthwhile and are a valuable source of income for our centre. They enable us to continue to offer support and valuable services to our members.
“We are very fortunate to have been given one collection and one bag packing slot during the busiest shopping week of the year. If you could spare an hour of your time, or know somebody who could, please get in touch.”
Robert Buckland MP commented: “The Swindon Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis plays an invaluable role in the local community and is a lifeline for its many members and their families.
“As well as raising valuable funds, bag packing and store collections are an important way of raising awareness of the Centre.''
Volunteers are needed for a store collection at Asda Orbital on Sunday, 18th December from 9.30am – 3.30pm (one-hour slots) and bag packing at Waitrose in Wichelstowe on Tuesday, 20th December between 10am and 6pm. If you are available to help, please get in touch by ringing 01793 481700 or emailing stcswindon@btconnect.com
