Robert Buckland MP is calling for people to support local community projects by voting for them in the Aviva Community Fund.
The Aviva Community Fund awards funding of up to £25,000 for local community projects across a range of categories such as supporting the elderly, health and wellbeing and community sport.
Several local community projects have applied in the Swindon area including Supporting Wellbeing and Developing Stability (SWADS), Helping Hands Volunteer Centre, Swindon Shock Wheelchair Basketball Club and many more. You can find a full list by visiting https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/acfcms/get-involved and typing your location in the “find projects near to” box.
Robert Buckland MP explained: “Here in Swindon we have many wonderful organisations and local charities that quietly but effectively, make a huge difference to our quality of life.
“This is just one way that we can all support the work of local groups, often running on a shoestring, using their funds to directly support the service they provide.”
Winners will be chosen from the projects that receive the most votes from the public. You have ten votes in total and you can choose to give all ten to a single project or split the votes between a number of projects.
Voting is open until 18th November and winners will be announced in January.
