South Swindon MP Robert Buckland, visited local business Ash’s Autos on Saturday, where he got to see first-hand how Ash and his team work hard to raise safety awareness within the biking community in and around Swindon.
In 2013, Ash had serious spine surgery and was told he would not be able to ride a motorbike again. However, Ash remained determined to recover from this surgery leading him to open his own garage.
Ash spends many hours in the community supporting rides and charity events such as the ‘Ride of Respect’. Ash plans rides for the community and attends biker safety and first aid courses. He also attends meetings all over the UK to build up his knowledge of safety awareness and attempts to make Swindon a safer place.
On Saturday, Ash’s Autos opened upstairs as a place for the biking community or anyone considering becoming a biker to go. It is a place for customers/bikers to gather and plan rides safely together. There is also the opportunity to have coffee and purchase a variety of safety equipment such as locks and alarms.
Robert Buckland said: “It was wonderful to attend the opening of such a brilliant local business in Swindon and I had a great time meeting Ash and his team.”
