South Swindon MP Robert Buckland is encouraging children and parents in Swindon to sign for the Summer Reading Challenge.
The theme of the reading challenge this year is Mischief Makers as we celebrate the 80th birthday of the Beano.
Robert explained: “The Summer Reading Challenge makes a real difference when it comes to summer holiday activities and is a great way for families to get together and share their love of reading.
“All you need to do to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge is visit Swindon Libraries and sign up to the challenge there.
“Once signed up, children visit the library at least 3 times and take a minimum of 2 books out each time.”
The challenge has already begun and will run from Saturday 14th July until Sunday 9th September.
Each child that completes the challenge will be awarded a certificate and medal to celebrate their achievement. Further information can be found by visiting https://swindonlibraries.wordpress.com/summer-reading-challenge/
