Business West to deliver Local Skills Improvement Plans

South Swindon MP Robert Buckland has welcomed the announcement that Business West has been chosen by the Government to run the Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIP) across Swindon and Wiltshire.

Local Skills Improvement Plans and a Strategic Development Fund are part of the Government’s Skills for Jobs. They will bring together employers, education and training providers and other local stakeholders to set out the key priorities and changes needed in the area to ensure that post-16 technical education and training prepares employees better for work.

Business West will bring together local businesses, training providers and stakeholders to understand the skills needed in the area, and to enable economic growth that will benefit everyone in the region.

The Local Skills Improvement Plans will be an opportunity for businesses here in Swindon to shape how their future workforce will need to look to ensure business plans are delivered in the right way and to create a more modern, digital and sustainable workforce.

New College Swindon will be working in partnership with Business West to develop and deliver a Local Skills Improvement Plan for our region.

Business West offers local employers of all sizes a wide range of free services to help them start, grow, export and innovate. You can sign up for free and join in the Local Skills Plans conversation here: https://www.businesswest.co.uk/about
